Gallows Hill is bringing Halloween early this year! Catarina is returning to their Witchcraft and Ghost Experience main show this summer until the end of spooky season.
Catarina has been acting since she could remember and feels at home onstage. Coming from a musical theater background, she loves to sing and dance but also has developed a passion for Shakespeare and Classical texts. It all started when she played Lady Capulet in Romeo & Juliet in her sophomore year of high school and she fell in love with the poetry of Shakespeare’s cannon.
In undergrad, she took classes on Shakespeare, heightened text, Suzuki movement, and most recently received the Stephen Driscoll British American Drama Academy (BADA) Scholarship to attend the BADA’s Midsummer in Oxford program. There, she continued to hone her craft and played Puck and Snout the Tinker in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
She hopes to continue her journey of constant learning both on and off stage and is excited to see what the future holds!
Although Catarina’s main passion is being on stage, she loves being involved in theater in general. She developed an affinity for stage management as a way to continue working on shows when she’s not onstage. With her organizational, managerial, and collaboration skills, stage management allows her to be one with the cast and ensure the show runs smoothly. As she understands both tech and actors’ perspectives, she can handle almost any situation under the sun. Most recently, she was the Assistant Stage Manager for Orlando at UMass Amherst.
One of Catarina’s favorite ways to stay creative off-stage is when she’s marketing for social media! She has been working in Marketing since 2020 and currently is working with the busking festival of Great Barrington, Berkshire Busk!, on their Social Media team. Check out some of her work!
